If the state of Georgia can decide to send former President Donald Trump to prison for simply telling his followers to watch a TV show, then it sets a dangerous precedent.
Sen. Lindsey Graham warned that former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff could be headed for jail if this becomes the standard.
This double standard is proof of the outrageous charges brought against Trump and highlights how ridiculous they are.
This week, an indictment was handed up against Trump and 18 others accusing them of challenging election results in November 2020.
Prosecutors are using his tweets as evidence that he’s guilty of racketeering which includes one from Jan 3rd saying he spoke with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger about voter fraud in Georgia.
Another tweet encouraging people to watch a TV show is also being used as evidence according to The Washington Post.
Sen. Lindsey Graham took note on twitter Wednesday by saying “Remember the Russian hoax and Mueller investigation? Donald Trump is being charged with a criminal act for telling people to watch a network show about the election.”
He went on point out how this standard will affect Adam Schiff noting “How many times did Schiff go on MSNBC and CNN and tell us Donald Trump was a Russian agent? This is very dangerous what they are doing to our country. It’s a terrible double standard.”
In another tweet, he mentioned Stacey Abrams who lost her 2018 gubernatorial race in Georgia but still claimed she won as another example of the hypocrisy surrounding this issue.
When Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis ties a tweet from Donald Trump into some form or conspiracy then it puts into question every lie told by Adam Schiff over numerous television appearances since 2017.
