The Defense Department has launched a series of airstrikes in response to recent attacks on troops.
According to reports, the target was a facility in eastern Syria run by Iran-backed militias.
Even with the attack, however, some are saying the retaliatory strikes were window dressing and of little consequence.
For the Headlines
The strikes were announced by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
Austin stated, “The President has no higher priority than the safety of U.S. personnel, and he directed today’s action to make clear that the United States will defend itself, its personnel, and its interests.”
Fox News’ Martha MacCallum called out spokesman John Kirby, a former US Navy Admiral, on the effectiveness of the strikes.
She stated, “You’re a military man. What do you say to the members of our U.S. services?
“They are watching this incoming: You’ve got a couple of people who’ve suffered traumatic brain injuries and others who have been injured.
“When you’re telling them – don’t fight back, Just sit there. You’re telling them, you know, just sit tight at this moment and take it?”
When Kirby tried to push back, she cut him off, stating, “With all due respect John, I’ve talked to military experts who say that retaliation is completely inconsequential; that Iran needs to be hit in a way that means something to them; their command and control centers, which we know where they are.”
I have said this before, but it seems to me that when it comes to Iran, everything Biden does is window dressing.
I cannot help but wonder what that country has on him that he is so hesitant to take the appropriate action against them.
