It’s a clear attempt to force reality into the progressive narrative. When liberals can’t find suitable facts, they make things up. The network media is so sure of themselves that they take propaganda to new heights of efficiency.
Reality isn’t convenient
It’s obvious, at least to American Thinker, that “the mainstream media actively wants to divide the country and make us hate one another.” They can’t tell a simple news story without twisting reality to make it a racial issue.
Not even when the video objectively shows the truth. Take this example. CNN published “Video showing how police treat Black and White teens in mall fight sparks outrage.”
Most folks read the headline, accept it as the gospel truth and never bother to dig deeper. Those who actually watch the video of events in question notice real fast that the narrative isn’t matching up to reality.
What the security footage depicts is “Two male teens fighting, and the fight being broken up by two police officers, who handle the chaos in a decisive way that has nothing demonstrable to do with any racial animus and that results in no physical harm, arrests, or charges to either teen.”
CNN does not want you to see reality. They need to “make sure you won’t see the video absent the correct underlying narrative to help you penetrate below what your eyes see to what’s really going on.”
To do that, they provide a narrator. CNN tells you without proof that the white teen is “the aggressor.” Blacks are “always innocent and defensive victims of that aggression.”
Throw the first punch
An objective look at the reality of how the situation escalated started with the White teen pointing his finger. No physical contact at all. The Black teen then “first initiates physical contact by shoving the white teen’s hand aside.”
White boy pushes back, Black teen throws the first punch. CNN is horrified at the racial violence. They don’t notice that “he throws many more punches than the white teen does.”
It’s really not as black and white as to which is the aggressor after all. There certainly isn’t any evidence to support any outrage and the police didn’t treat either one of them any differently. Reality is that boys will be boys.
A scuffle can start over anything and race doesn’t have anything to do with it. Most authorities rely on the maxim that the aggressor is the one who “initiated physical contact.” Not to liberals.
To help justify their shaky position without an reality to back them up, the CNN overdub narrator makes the Black kid a hero, claiming “he was protecting another kid from the white teen.” So they say. When they both fell over at the same time, CNN calls that a tackle and blames the White teen for it.
When it comes right down to it, what they should have reported was that two teens had a scuffle which was broken up by police who did nothing further because nobody really cares about actually providing any law and order.
