Back in April of 2016, Hunter Biden’s personal attorney had a really busy day. George Mesires sat down “with then-Vice President Joe Biden at the White House the same day” he “met with Hunter to discuss a subpoena related to the federal investigation into Hunter’s business partner, Devon Archer.” Archer’s in jail over that now. Hopefully, the Bidens will be joining him shortly. Joe’s claims that he has “no knowledge” of his son’s business dealings just got shredded.
A busy attorney
Fox News is breaking the story that Hunter Biden’s attorney had “a 2016 meeting with then-Vice President Joe Biden at the White House” on the exact same day the lawyer dropped by Hunter’s office “to discuss a subpoena.”
That particular subpoena was “related to the federal investigation into Hunter’s business partner, Devon Archer.”
According to Fox, the scandal first started to unfold on March 23, 2016. That’s the day Hunter emailed Eric Schwerin.

At the time, Schwerin was president of “Hunter’s now-defunct investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners.” He copied in attorney Christopher Boies because he was alerting them “he had received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.” He was clearly rattled.
“I received a SEC subpoena for any information I have related to the situation Devin [sic] is dealing with. I don’t have any relevant information that I know that of, but I wanted to coordinate with the same team representing Devon if that is appropriate. Let me know how to proceed. Thanks.”
As an attorney himself, Hunter lets others do the heavy lifting. The big busy day came a couple weeks later. On April 4, Hunter’s calendar lists meetings with his legal team.
A big ‘investigations’ guy
As evidenced by an email to Hunter from Joan Mayer, a top staffer at Rosemont Seneca, when April 4 rolled around, attorneys George Mesires and Michael MacPhail payed a visit to his office “to discuss subpoena.” In an earlier exchange with Schwerin, “Mesires referred to MacPhail as a ‘Big SEC investigations guy.‘” Nobody knows what they talked about.
What Fox did learn is that White House visitor logs list attorney Mesires for a meeting “with Biden at the White House that same day.” There goes Joe’s plausible deniability that he was in the dark on Hunter’s business deals. He was apparently even directly involved in damage control when one of them blew up.
Hunter also had a meeting with his dad in the West Wing at 4:15 p.m., while attorney Mesires logged in for his audience with the Big Guy “15 minutes later at 4:30 p.m.” That tends to suggest it was all related and they were all in the room at the same time.
Remember when Burisma posted a photo of Joe and Hunter’s partner Devon Archer on its website May 13, 2014?
The photo was posted one day after Burisma publicly announced that Hunter joined its board for $1M per year

Just over a month later, “Hunter, Schwerin, Mesires, and others” started exchanging a blizzard of emails. That’s when “reports started to drop about Archer being accused of ‘selling fake bonds‘ and facing ‘securities-fraud charges related to alleged tribal bond scheme.‘” The Oglala Sioux still haven’t been paid back more than $60 million.
By then, Hunter and Schwerin had a “crisis communications firm” working on it. In one thread between Hunter and Schwerin, they were happy that “a Reuters article didn’t mention Archer or Hunter.” Then Wall Street Journal posted a story on the same day. Hunter tapped out: “Thoughts? I don’t think this is good when 1/3 of the story is about our relationship- 5 of 16 paragraphs. Anyway we can push back harder.” Schwerin wasn’t bothered much.
“There are no allegations you had anything to do with this only that you do business together. Still not good but not sure how we push back without inviting more questions but defer to our experts.” That has House watchdogs like James Comer and Jim Jordan wondering what questions from the SEC they were afraid of. We’ll soon find out. His new attorney will likely stick to the old story on this one. The story Schwerin set down. “Devon never ‘worked‘ for RSP, he is currently a partner in it along with Hunter and me but RSP itself is an empty shell of a company that holds no assets once it sold RSA to Burnham.“
