Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has finally thrown his hat into the ring.
Only it is not the ring that most people thought it would be.
Cruz has decided not to get into the 2024 presidential brawl.
Instead, he has announced that he will be running for re-election to defend his Senate seat.
Get Ready, Beto
The last time Ted Cruz ran, Beto took him on.
With more liberals than ever in Texas, Beto gave him a scare, but Cruz ended up coasting to the finish line when all was said and done.
There was a lot of anticipation that Cruz would run again in 2024 after failing but being the last man standing against Trump in 2020.
Cruz made it quite clear that he plans on staying in Texas, at least for now.
He stated, “I’m running for reelection to the Senate.
“There’s a reason I’m in Texas today.
“I’m not in Iowa, I’m in Texas, and I’m fighting for 30 million Texans.”
I like this decision by Cruz because he is a known commodity for Texans and that seat should not be at risk in a cycle when we fully expect to take the Senate back.
