New York City has declared war on buses. Specifically, the ones which carry migrants. Eric Adams came up with the kind of nit-pick idea liberals can get behind. NYPD is going over each and every out-of-state bus with a fine toothed comb, to cite them for every possible infraction they can find.
Liberals blame the buses
Its all the fault of those bleeping buses, New York liberals whine. They’re so fed up with the steady delivery of South and Central American migrants that they decided to declare war on the root cause. Motor coaches.
Texas, Arizona and Florida should keep all those millions of invading housekeepers and landscapers for themselves. Instead, Republican governors ship them to the cities who advertised sanctuary. What really angers progressives is the idea conservatives are doing it on purpose. Simply to prove a political point by overwhelming the progressive social service safety net.
The NYPD calls their crackdown on mass transit “part of a desperate effort to slow the overwhelming flow of thousands of migrants.” Closing the border is out of the question.
According to the New York Post, they spotted “a team of NYPD Highway Patrol officers waiting in four squad cars near the Port Authority pulling over four buses that had just dropped off dozens of migrants starting at around 6:15 a.m.” Dozens out of the millions overwhelming our border.
The companies thank them for inspecting their buses so thoroughly. Each one will be better equipped for the next run of migrants. “The officers then spent around an hour meticulously searching each bus for any possible infractions, including log books, tire threads, fluid levels and even windshield wiper placement.”
New York criminals are thrilled with the way police are budgeting their time and resources. Every cop crawling through a bus with a flashlight and a notebook is one less to stop a convenience store from being robbed at gunpoint.
Given tickets and gone
Some of the drivers had a stack of appearance tickets when they left but they were all allowed to drive away. Sources inside the NYPD explained the total control crackdown was done for a purpose. “The hope was to find excuses to take the buses off the road to complicate the mass ferrying of migrants from Republican Texas border cities.”
It didn’t work nearly as well as planned. “Nothing is too minor to take them out of service,” one law-enforcement source declared. They weren’t out of service long.
The drivers got a big laugh out of it. They warned New York liberals that the move wasn’t going to scare the companies or stop the buses. As one driver relates, “I don’t care if the NYPD inspects us, we’ll keep making this trip because the money’s too good.”
He got dinged for four infractions, the worst of which was a “loose seatbelt.” He’ll get it tightened up and check his windshield wipers thoroughly before the next trip north.
“I’m with Greg Abbott all the way. I don’t want migrants in my state. If Biden wants the borders open, the Democrat states can take them.”
He added, “what would you do if someone came into your house because your neighbor keeps saying, ‘Welcome, welcome‘?” The residents of Martha’s Vineyard debunked that urban myth in a big way. Conservatives prefer the buses. “In Texas, we say stack ’em, pack ’em and ship ’em to New York.“
