Ron DeSantis appears to be ready to be the bigger man.
The Florida Governor is offering up a public olive branch for Trump.
DeSantis, in his book, openly gives Trump credit for helping him get elected.
Will It Be Enough?
In the book, DeSantis writes, “I knew that a Trump endorsement would provide me with the exposure to GOP primary voters across the State of Florida, and I was confident that many would see me as a good candidate once they learned about my record.”
It continued, “I had developed a good relationship with the president largely because I supported his initiatives in Congress and opposed the Russia collusion conspiracy theory.”
Now, if Trump does not read the book, you better believe that someone in his camp will be reading it.
The question now is how is Trump going to react?
Trump has overtold the story, accusing DeSantis of “crying” and “begging” for his endorsement.
If Trump continues to hammer DeSantis after that book is out, well, he is just going to look like a creep.
To this point, DeSantis has not engaged Trump in any way publicly other than to defend his record.
He is playing this very smart, and now Trump will be confronted with the passages from the book.
Cannot wait to see how this all plays out.
