After eluding Oregon police for a week, torture suspect Benjamin Obadiah Foster is dead. He shot himself following a lengthy “hours-long” armed standoff, Tuesday. They found him underneath the home of Tina Marie Jones, the 68-year-old they arrested for hindering prosecution. While searching, they found two male bodies and are certain Foster is responsible for them, too.
Torture suspect also a killer
From torture to murder, Grants Pass Police are having a busy week. Ben Foster loaded them up with one violent crime after another. He won’t be bothering anyone ever again, though.
The 36-year-old ended his life with his own .45 after he “burrowed” underneath a residence and argued with police all day. Just because he’s off the street doesn’t mean those dating apps are any safer to use.
On Wednesday, February 1, Grants Pass Police held a press conference to detail the final hours of elusive torture suspect Ben Foster. On Tuesday, they ended their manhunt. The “extremely dangerous” suspect had been “using dating apps to lure in victims.”

They got involved when a 911 call came in that led them to a woman they found bound, severely beaten and unconscious, The previous Tuesday. It didn’t take them long to connect Foster, charging him with attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault. They started tracking him down. Along his trail, they found two bodies.
Police relate, a week later, that “the woman remains in stable and critical condition” from “torture that happened over a protracted period of time.” Chief Warren Hensman “declined to name her or clarify her link to Foster.”
He did note they call it a “former domestic relationship.” He has a history of beating his partners senseless. He did a short time in jail after torturing his girlfriend in Las Vegas. He made her drink lye.
Police got a tip
By Thursday, police were still clueless. Then, they got a “tip about Foster being at a home in Wolf Creek.” He was too quick for them. “He slipped out and evaded police that night.” They did arrest the home’s resident, Tina Marie Jones, for hindering prosecution. He apparently didn’t torture her. She “hid him and helped him escape.”
According to Josephine County Sheriff Dave Daniel, that’s when “his deputies went door to door at homes in the Sunny Valley community.” They looked through a window and didn’t like what they saw one bit, because it was obviously “a crime scene.” Inside, they found two men dead.
74-year-old Richard Lee Barron Jr. and 65-year-old Donald Owen Griffith didn’t stand a chance against the cold-blooded martial arts expert. He uses women for practice because he enjoys the torture. “There is no known connection between him and the two slain men,” other than a convenient place in the neighborhood for Foster to elude the cops. Cause of death was “blunt force trauma.”

The Captain struggled for words before declaring it, a “brutal scene.” He liked their dog so much he took it for a walk and kept going. “Investigators claim Foster took items and a dog. He was recorded walking the canine Tuesday morning, they said.” This Tuesday, the day he died.
Following his trail of breadcrumbs led them back to the original Shane Way location. Police note Foster “did not want to communicate with police.” Instead, he “burrowed” deep under the home. “Knowing he was armed and dangerous, law enforcement anticipated a gunfight but in the end, Foster shot himself in the head with a .45 caliber weapon.” He was still breathing. They had to cut through the floor to get him out. He didn’t make it.
Police feel cheated that he took the easy way out. “Hensman voiced frustration with not being able to arrest Foster and ask him about his motives. The chief said there will remain unanswered questions.” His “motives” aren’t that hard to figure out. He’s a savage barbarian who likes to torture innocent women and not real interested in being stuck back in a cage like the animal he is. The scary thing is that he just gave other twisted killers an idea on how to hide.
