Yes, the White House just went there.
The Biden administration is concerned with deals that Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) made with members of his caucus in order to secure the votes to get the gavel.
Now they are demanding transparency on those deals.
Let’s Make a Deal
Forgive me for the levity, but I had to wait about 10 minutes before starting this article after reading the report because I was laughing so hard.
White House senior communications adviser for strategic response Andrew Bates stated, “An unprecedented tax hike on the middle class and a national abortion ban are just a glimpse of the secret, backroom deals Speaker McCarthy made with extreme MAGA members to end this month’s chaotic elections and claim the gavel.
“It is well past time for Speaker McCarthy and the ultra MAGA Republican House members to come out of the dark and tell the American people, in-full, what they decided in secret.
“What other hidden bargains did Speaker McCarthy make behind closed doors with the most extreme, ultra MAGA members of the House Republican conference?
“The American people have a right to know – now – which is why we are calling on him to make every single one of them public immediately.”
This coming from an administration of a man we know played let’s make a deal during the primary to win the race.
Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and James Clyburn, just to name a few, all likely made deals with Biden to help his secure his nomination.
And that does not even include all the donors he made deals with to get them to open up their checkbooks.
So, sure, Joe, you show us your deals and we will show you ours.
