For a week, Donald Trump got his supporters all worked up saying he had a “big announcement” to make.
When the announcement came, it was a fundraising hustle.
Trump released limited edition NFT collecting cards at $99 each.
Even some of Trump’s biggest high-profile supporters went after Trump for something that seems more like a grift than what you would expect from a presidential candidate.
Seriously?
The announcement of a presidential candidate selling NFTs to raise money was bad enough.
Trump’s proclaiming that he was a better president than George Washington and Lincoln was about all I needed to hear to turn off the video.
There were enough diehard supporters to buy them out, although we have no idea how many Trump made available.
Regardless, it is an amateur move, and I am far from the only person that thinks that.
Here are just a few of the reactions…
Grifting on NFTs won't win elections.

Whoever told Trump to do this should be fired https://t.co/fJ56QjYdDu

My guess is this is more money for the legal fund, as that is where most of Trump’s campaign funds have gone thus far.
The fact that he had to resort to gimmick such as this is proof that the energy around the campaign this year is not nearly what it was in 2020, let alone 2016.
I am more convinced than ever that DeSantis needs to take the lead if we have any shot of winning.
