ICYMI – A bit of a stunner came out of the FDA.
The Food and Drug Administration announced that the original COVID-19 vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna are no longer are authorized in the U.S.
Both companies have released a newer version of the vaccine which reportedly include a component of the original vaccine.

The reason for the change is that the newer version, while containing elements of the original vaccine, also contain components targeting the Omicron variant.
This is now being recommended as the main dose for everyone six months and older.
The FDA further state that anyone who remains unvaccinated can take a single “bivalent” dose instead of two shots of the original “monovalent” vaccines.
Those who have already been vaccinated can take a single-shot vaccine that will target the Omicron variant.
Dr. Peter Marks, the director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research stated, “Evidence is now available that most of the U.S. population 5 years of age and older has antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, either from vaccination or infection that can serve as a foundation for the protection provided by the bivalent vaccines.”
Just 17 percent of the population have taken an updated COVID-19 shot, according to the FDA.
