Democrats finally got what they have been after for years on Donald Trump.
The House Ways and Means Committee was finally given Trump’s tax returns from the Treasury.
This ends a multi-year battle for them to get a look into Trump’s personal finances.
The Deep Dive
After the Supreme Court ruling, Dems were frothing at the mouth to get Trump’s returns.
Chief Justice Roberts, who had placed the initial stay, was the one to announced that Dems could finally get the returns.
He wrote, “The application for stay of the mandate presented to The Chief Justice and by him referred to the Court is denied.
“The order heretofore entered by The Chief Justice is vacated.”
On Wednesday, Treasuring broke the news, stating, “Treasury has complied with last week’s court decision.”
As of the writing of this report, Treasury could not confirm or decline that Democrats had accessed the information.
However, I would imagine they were pouring over the returns as soon as they has access.
With only a month left in power, they are going to have to move fast to find something.
If they do not find anything by then, I would suspect a leak of his tax forms would “accidentally” occur, giving the media a shot at them.
