Herschel Walker has just been dealt a crushing blow to his campaign.
Sadly, it is his own doing that is going to cost him.
A report surfaced this week that Walker overstated charitable donations, and it is already impacting him in the polls.
Just Do It
Walker has promised to give 15 percent of his profits from the Renaissance Man Food Services (RMSF) to four different charities.
The New York Times decided to check up to see if he was actually doing that.
Two of the charities said they had never received a penny.
A third charity refused to comment, and the fourth charity had only received about $2,000 in donations.
What was the response by Walker’s campaign when challenged with the information?
“The Times’s reporting did not conclusively prove that Mr. Walker’s company failed to donate profits.”
All Walker needed to do if the story is inaccurate is produce the paperwork for the donations, but they came up with that lame line.
In recent weeks, Walker had actually taken the lead in that race, but now he is down across the board again.
Walker has done this before, often exaggerating stories about his professional experience and business, but this one seems to be hitting home with a lot of people.
With Blake Masters and Mehmet Oz behind in their races, the GOP was hoping Walker could win, but this may be too much for him to overcome.
These are all Trump candidates too, and they are all losing.
If the GOP loses the Senate and these seats are the reason, Trump will have some serious explaining to do, especially because he has not been financially supporting any of these candidates with his PAC.
