The Republican party is in a state of unrest following former President Trump’s latest arraignment on speech crimes in Washington DC.
Kari Lake, a popular member of the GOP, recently appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room program to discuss her views surrounding the 2020 election and its aftermath.
During this conversation, she expressed her opinion that the current conflict between citizens and their government is one of tyranny.
Lake believes that Donald J. Trump stands alone as the only candidate willing to stand up against “the swamp” or what she sees as tyrannical rule by those in power.
She went on to suggest that January 6th was merely a staged riot meant to distract from fraudulent election certification results.
Instead of pursuing impeachment proceedings for Joe Biden, Lake proposed revisiting these results in order to decertify the 2020 election which would eliminate any need for impeachment proceedings at all.
In a later tweet, she wrote “Impeaching the illegitimate occupant in the White House isn’t necessary here…Let’s decertify 2020.”
Lake argued that there is evidence supporting her claims about fraudulence throughout the election process but did not go into detail about what this evidence might be or where it can be found other than stating that many people agree with her conclusion based on what they have seen so far.
From her statement alone it appears that Lake believes there was some kind of interference during or after voting took place which led to an inaccurate outcome and thus should be investigated further before any sort of action can be taken regarding Biden’s legitimacy as president-elect.
It goes without saying that Kari Lake has strong opinions on how best to move forward with handling Trump’s charges and addressing questions surrounding Biden’s presidency-elect status.
However, whether or not anything will actually come out of these suggestions remains uncertain at best.
