Three whistleblowers have come forward to add a few more nails into the legacy of Barack Obama.

Fred Wynn, Mike Taylor, and Mark Jones all came forward to report a policy violation by US Customs and Border Protection.

We are now finding out that revenge was taken against them after they reported the violations.

Sweet Revenge

The three men mentioned above reported that the CBP was not properly connecting DNA samples from criminal arrestees going back more than a decade.

An investigation found that all three of these men faced revenge in the form of financial and professional penalties after they came forward.

Special Counsel Henry Kerner told then-President Donald Trump and Congress in letters on Aug. 21, 2019, “The agency’s noncompliance with the law has allowed subject subsequently accused of violent crimes, including homicide and sexual assault, to elude detection even when detained multiple times by CBP or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“This is an unacceptable dereliction of the agency’s law enforcement mandate.”

The rough estimate is that roughly five million people were able to slip through the cracks because of this policy violation.

When the whistleblowers drew attention to this, their division was shut down (this was actually done during the Trump administration).

The investigation found that “actions were motivated by the agency’s displeasure with the Complainants’ perceived and actual involvement in bringing to light the agency’s intentional, decade-long failure to implement a law designed to protect public safety.”

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is now calling on Secretary Mayorkas to make things right.

When the CBP was asked about the revenge, it stated, “CBP takes whistleblower protection very seriously and has policies and procedures in place to ensure appropriate protections for such individuals.

“The Office of Special Counsel (OSC) terminated its investigation into these claims without issuing a Prohibited Personnel Practice Report or seeking corrective action.

“As this case is in active litigation, CBP is not at liberty to provide any specific information or response regarding the characterization of the facts relating to this appeal.”

So this falls over both the Trump and Obama administrations.

It was largely the Obama administration that failed to collect the DNA… and it was the Trump administration that shut down the program after the whistleblowers came forward.
