Mike Pence had been making a comeback of sorts in the GOP.

He was getting some nice momentum, and he seemed to be getting along with Trump, or at least staying out of his wrath zone.

Pence was far from having enough support to run for president, but he was coming back into the picture.

Then he had to go and open his mouth about the FBI.

Wrong Way

There is an open call by the Republican Party to consider ending the FBI.

This is a federal agency that I will be the first to admit is loaded with amazing agents who do incredible work.

Unfortunately, the head of this beast is rotten to the core and no matter what we do, another evil monster takes over.

It cannot be denied that this agency has had a vendetta against Trump since he walked down those steps.

It started with Comey and it has continued with Wray… and it has penetrated other leadership levels and even some rank-and-file agents.

Now, I am not suggesting violence, quite the opposite, as I think you would have to be a fool to try to carry out that mission.

On the flip side, we have to hold them accountable and consider disbanding the federal agency, redefining it, and launching a new agency with entirely new leadership drawn from the good eggs currently within the agency.

Pence had a different idea.

He started good, but man did he fizzle out at the end.

Pence stated, “We can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking the rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI.

“The Republican Party is the party of law and order.

“Our party stands with the men and women who stand on the thin blue line on the federal and state and local level.

“And these attacks on the FBI must stop. Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.”

There actually is a difference, Mr. Pence.

Local police forces are not a federally funded agency under the DOJ that has been clearly weaponized against Donald Trump and conservatives.

That simply cannot be denied.

I am all for sweeping changes if it will save the agency, and I would probably not go so far as to defund, but I would say reorganize.

And if that means changing those three letters, well, so be it.
