Yet another fake news report against Donald Trump has been exposed.
This time, it comes from PBS, which ran with a live report rather than verifying the story first.
The journalist who reported the story, PBS correspondent Judy Woodruff, was forced to offer a half-hearted apology.
Too Soon
Reuters and Axios ran the initial report that Donald Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu were working on a deal behind the scenes.
The report stated that the two of them had cooked up a scheme to block any cease-fire until after the election to hurt Democrats.
When both Trump and Netanyahu were asked about the report, both parties vehemently denied that it ever took place.
However, Woodruff announced the reports live on air as they came in rather than waiting to verify the stories.
In what was a half-hearted apology, she stated, “This was a mistake, and I apologize for it.”
This is all part of the problem with today’s media, however.
They all want to be first to the story, so they use anonymous water cooler sources and never give the subject of the story enough time to respond before going to print.
Social media has killed any integrity that was once present because now it is all about getting clicks and likes to generate money rather than having a real story.
If they get it wrong, they are never held accountable, so they offer an apology that is never really seen, but everyone saw the initial report.
I would wager that at some point, Democrats will cite those reports to attack Trump, even though they have already been debunked.
Just like the media, the truth matters very little to Democrats these days.
