By the time you have read this, Donald Trump will have already surrendered.
Not the presidential race, just to Georgia Authorities.
Trump announced earlier in the week that he would be surrendering to Fulton County authorities on Thursday.
Make no mistake about it, this was one of the greatest strategic moves of the campaign cycle so far.
Great Move
Trump used Truth Social to announce when he would be surrendering.
He posted, “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis.”
So, this is why this is genius.
The first GOP debate was on Wednesday night.
On the off chance that someone had a breakout performance (they did not), Trump was giving them all of 12 hours of a news cycle.
The debate ended just after 11:00 p.m. EDT, and that story would be hot until Trump got on his plane and headed to Georgia to be arrested.
For the rest of Thursday, all anyone will be talking about is Trump and his mug shot.
Now, we have seen how his supporters have reacted to indictments in the past, and Trump knows those photos are going to drive people to the Internet to click on that “donate” button to his campaign.
And that, my friends, is why this man is a genius at controlling the news cycle and ensuring that all eyes are on him all the time.
