There may not be a Supreme Court justice in the history of this country that has been as tough a talker regarding conservatism as Clarence Thomas.
However, he just proved it is all talk.
Thomas has caved to the far left by removing himself from the George Washington University teaching staff.
In the process, he has handed radical leftists in this country a huge victory.
You Coward!
If you are a fan of Justice Thomas, turn away, because this will not be pleasant.
He talked the talk, but when it came time to walk the walk, his spine shriveled up and cowered away.
Unless he has some serious health issue, there is simply no excuse for what he just did.
Protests, petitions, I do not care… he needed to face them this fall and show up, teach, and do it with a smile on his face.
Instead, he bailed.
In announcing his withdrawal from this fall’s class schedule, GWU stated, “Justice Thomas informed GW Law that he is unavailable to co-teach a Constitutional Law Seminar this fall.
“The students were promptly informed of Justice Thomas’ decision by his co-instructor who will continue to offer the seminar this fall.”
Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley, who remains a faculty member at the school, offered up his take, and it is not all that far from mine…
Disappointing… that is the word that described it all the best.
All Thomas proved by doing this is that with enough pressure, the left will win.
I have always accused Republican politicians of not having a spine, but that now extends to the conservatives on the Supreme Court bench.
