Joe Biden faces his first true legislative dilemma as president this week.

His administration’s investment rule has been rebuked by the House, as expected, and in a bipartisan manner in the Senate.

To block the legislation, Biden will have to issue his first veto as president.

Strike It Down

The legislation is to kill a new investment rule that Biden put in to force investment into the renewable energy sector.

The rule “encourages” retirement planners to factor environment, social and governance (ESG) into their investment decisions.

Many economic experts have concerns about the ESG rule, especially when it comes to those that are drawing off their retirement accounts now.

The legislation has received bipartisan support, so it will be headed to Joe Biden’s desk.

The White House has been adamant that it will veto the legislation if that happens.

Biden has always billed himself as someone that can work with a bipartisan Senate.

Yet, the first real piece of legislation that comes across his desk in a bipartisan manner that goes against his policy is going to get vetoed.

One aide stated, “After a month of President Biden accusing Republicans of partisanship and trying to hurt Americans’ retirements, the next thing that comes to his desk is a bipartisan rebuke of his policy that’s hurting Americans’ retirement savings to fund his political agenda.”

Biden is not about Americans…

He is about lobbyists and donors, and that is who his ESG rule helps.
