Yet again, we have a leak at the Supreme Court.
This time it is internal memos that have the left going nuclear on Chief Justice Roberts.
The left and media are making it sound like he rigged the cases that went before the court for Trump, but that is hardly the case.
Clueless
The job of the Chief Justice is to guide the court through these cases, which is exactly what Roberts was doing in these memos.
For instance, on one note, he “As I read it, it says simply a former president can be prosecuted because he’s being prosecuted.
“I think it likely that we will view the separation of powers analysis differently.”
In another memo he wrote, “In a case like this one, focusing on ‘transient results’ may have profound consequences for the separation of powers and for the future of our Republic.
“Our perspective must be more farsighted.”
The report, which was posted in the New York Times, painted the picture as if Roberts was strongarming the other members of the court, but that was not the case.
Furthermore, the ultimate ruling by the court was nothing more than a regurgitation of previous decisions on presidential immunity.
The case has always been that acts of a sitting president related to the office cannot be prosecuted, but acts committed as a private citizen were open to prosecution.
Ultimately, Trump will not get immunity for the rally on January 6, nor will he receive it for the hush money case.
For January 6, Trump was a candidate. For the hush-money case, they are actions taken as a business owner. There is no way the defense can present either of those instances as official acts of the presidency, so this is nothing more than the media, once again, showing itself to be an extension of the Democrat Party.
