Democrats and the left absolutely despise Trump, at least most of them do.
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) stunned everyone with the suggestion that Trump should be pardoned on “The View.”
When Fetterman said the case was politically motivated, I thought they were going to have to call in the paramedics.
Politically Motivated
For those of you who do not know the history of this case, the DA’s office initially declined to seek an indictment against Trump.
It was only after a Biden DOJ official joined Bragg’s office that this case caught fire again.
Then, because the statute of limitations had passed on the misdemeanor charge, Bragg had to craft this as a felony indictment, which he did by stacking ledger entries for individual charges.
After seeing Joe Biden pardon Hunter for what Fetterman claimed was a politically motivated case, he also suggested that Biden do the same for Trump…
If Biden pardoned Trump, it would cover the two federal cases brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, but it would not cover the state cases that Trump is facing in Georgia and New York.
For those cases, Trump would need a governor’s pardon, and I just don’t see New York Governor Hochul offering Trump that olive branch.
Currently, Judge Merchan has indefinitely suspended the sentencing hearing because Trump won the election.
Bragg has stated numerous times that he is willing to delay sentencing, but he does not want to drop the charges altogether.
Both Smith cases were dropped, but they were done without prejudice so that Democrats could revive the cases once Trump left office again.
