Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is at it again.
Paxton reportedly found some suspicious activity from nonprofit organizations working to register voters.
He then announced that an undercover investigation revealed the possible registering of noncitizens by nonprofits to vote.
Lock Them Up
This is a big deal in Texas, with the fines for those registering these individuals harsher than the penalty for the person being registered.
In Texas, the illegal voter could do two years in jail and face a $10,000 fine. But if you are the person helping them, you could do up to 20 years in jail as well as a $10,000 fine.
Paxton issued a press release on the investigation.
Paxton stated, “Texans are deeply troubled by the possibility that organizations purporting to assist with voter registration are illegally registering noncitizens to vote in our elections.
“If eligible citizens can legally register to vote when conducting their business at a DPS office, why would they need a second opportunity to register with a booth outside?
“My office is investigating every credible report we receive regarding potential criminal activity that could compromise the integrity of our elections.
“The Biden-Harris Administration has intentionally flooded our country with illegal aliens, and without proper safeguards, foreign nationals can illegally influence elections at the local, state, and national level.
“It is a crime to vote—or to register to vote—if you are not a United States Citizen. Any wrongdoing will be punished to the fullest extent of the law”
You can bet that Paxton will push this as hard as he can, as he continues to be one of the stronger conservative AGs in the country.
As such, he is believed to be on Trump’s shortlist for possible AG candidates if Trump wins this election.
Paxton would have no problem at all standing up to Democrats and their extremist policies.
While I am sure Texas would be sorry to lose him, having him fight for the entire country instead of just Texas is pretty attractive to voters.
