The deal to bring peace to Ukraine is moving along right on track. Despite Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s attempts to derail negotiations by throwing his own opinions around. President Donald Trump has nothing but praise for ceasefire talks held with Russian President Vladimir Putin. So far, they’ve been “good and productive.”
Ukraine on the table
Now that the administration has the disputed mineral deal signed and sealed, there will soon be peace in Ukraine. President Trump and his team thought they taught Ukraine’s president a lesson in humility.
He still doesn’t seem to understand his opinions aren’t a factor in the deal. He had three years to win the war and didn’t. Europe is in no position to help him out because they’ve been relying entirely on the United States.
Peace will only come to Ukraine as part of a much larger deal directly between Trump and Putin. Together, they’re sizing up a way of dividing European interests between them. Trump’s not happy at all with NATO. They’ve been freeloading for decades, expecting Uncle Sam to do all the heavy lifting.
At the same time, they did their best to build an open borders New World Order global empire, run from Brussels. Trump is as mad at Europe as Putin is. They’re both currently in a position to solve all of their European problems once and for all.
Ukraine is only an afterthought. Putin may just hand over most of what Zelenskyy is hoping for. He won’t be doing it to make Zelenskyy happy, he’ll be doing it as a “favor” for Trump.
Because he’s going to want bigger and better things that Trump’s been teasing him with. Zelenskyy is doing his best to blow it by whining with demands.

Talks going well
Talks started out in Saudi Arabia and went well enough that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff jetted off to Moscow. That was so the Europeans and Ukraine would be held off at arms length where they wouldn’t be a distraction.
NATO is the big issue which started the Ukrainian invasion in the first place. The Kremlin confirms they share our “cautious optimism” over a peace process.
President Trump posted on Truth Social that ongoing talks with Russia provide “a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end.” Meanwhile, the president of Ukraine was doing his best to sabotage his efforts.

Zelenskyy maintains that “Putin’s response so far shows Russia wants to continue the war and does not want a ceasefire.” Keep your nose out of it, he’s been diplomatically warned.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio made clear after a meeting with U.K. Foreign Secretary David Lammy and others that the U.S. “would not make foreign policy decisions based on what leaders said on social media or at a news conference.”
There is only one way to end the war in Ukraine. “Through a process of negotiations.” One that’s negotiating things a lot bigger than ending the bloody war.
