It did not take long for Trump’s legal team to cut down the Democrat’s impeachment case.
Actually, in about two hours, most pundits believed that Trump’s legal team shredded the Democrat argument and made it all but a certainty Trump will be acquitted by the end of the week.
Facts Vs Fiction
The problem for Democrats is that the facts are largely on Donald Trump’s side.
Schiff did not make matters any better when he blatantly lied about a piece of evidence he presented.
During his opening arguments, Schiff hinted that Mr. Z in a message was Ukraine’s President Zelensky.
As it turns out, and Schiff knows this, the Mr. Z in question was actually the founder of Burisma, Mykola Zlochevsky.
Schiff also railed about Russian conspiracy theories that have been debunked by the Mueller investigation.
Listening to Democrat opening arguments was like attending a magic show… it looked really impressive, but it is all smoke, mirrors, and misdirection.
Not only did Trump’s lead counsel, Pat Cipollone, destroy their narrative, he completely flipped it right back in the lap of Democrats with his brilliant opening.
He stated, “For all their talk about election interference, they’re here to perpetrate the most massive interference in an election in American history.
“And we can’t allow that to happen.”
“It would violate the sacred trust that the American people have placed in you and have placed in them.
“The American people decide elections.
“They have one coming up in nine months.”
He added, “They’re asking you to do something that no Senate has ever done and they’re asking you to do it with no evidence. And that’s wrong.”
Deflating Democrats
Democrats are already openly panicking about their chances of pulling this impeachment off.
It would be bad enough if the acquittal vote went down along party lines, but that is not going to be the case.
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) has already stated he believes multiple Democrats are going to side with Republicans on this.
There are at least two virtual locks to vote for acquittal and there may be as many as four.
Now, can you imagine how history is going to portray an impeachment in the House that could not even win over every member of its party, then a bipartisan acquittal vote for Trump in the Senate?
Pelosi and company think they have set their place in history, and to an extent they are right.
The problem for them is that when all is said and done, they will be known as the most corrupt era the Democrat party has ever known.
They will be known as the era of the Democrat party that tried to lead a coup against the White House, that refused to accept election results, then tried fear-mongering to oust a sitting president and taint a future election.
The charge of abuse of power is proper, only it was filed against the wrong person(s).
Since the beginning of this scham by peloshi, the demoncratics have been in the position to say whatever they pleased. Lies were the events of the day, but now that the public can render judgement, their mode of operation has gone sour. The old story of repeating something enough becomes reality has only become reality for the demoncratics. The white house team has obviously deterred their direction concerning trying to convince the public that they, the demoncratics, are right and have the proper motives. Actually this is all about the money making backroom schemes and building their power structure. The demoncratics have done nothing for the citizen who work for a living in lieu of having the BIG PAPA GOVERNMENT take care of the children and encourage the health not to work, but be dependent. Maybe someday they will vote in a real person who will be loyal and dedicated to the country, I doubt it.
