Nervous officials in Taiwan believe that the Chinese military drills are “possible simulated attack against the island.” Another possibility is that the exercises are a cover for a real invasion. Pooh Bear promised Joe Biden that things would get hot in the region if Nancy Pelosi dared follow through with her threat of a visit. She practically waved them the middle finger. That can’t go unpunished. Xi Jinping needs to “save face” in front of the communist masses.
Taiwan braces for sim-vasion
China knows it makes officials in Taiwan edgy to have planes flying overhead, so the missiles were an extra-special treat. They ticked Japan off with those because the rockets splashed down in Japanese waters.
China is supposed to stay on their side of the fence but their territory isn’t allowed to be sneaking out at night and flirting with illicit democracy, either.
Reports are coming in that “some of the aircraft and vessels had crossed the sensitive median line in the Taiwan Strait that separates the island from the Chinese mainland.”

The Taiwanese ministry informs that their “military has broadcast warnings, deployed combat air patrol and naval vessels and activated land-based missile systems in response to the situation.” Nancy Pelosi doesn’t seem to notice how much trouble she caused. She acts like the island is part of America already.
Meanwhile, China isn’t saying anything diplomatically. They’re letting the military do the talking with tanks, ships and missiles all heading for the coast.
Rumors of a practice invasion of Taiwan have been swirling around ever since Thursday, August 4, “after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s controversial visit to the self-governing democratic island earlier this week.”
Reunify the island with China
Ever since the Chinese Communist Party took charge, Taiwan has been unfinished business for them. They let them run their own affairs but China still claims them as a territory. A lot like our current relationship with Puerto Rico.
Ever since they kicked out Chiang Kai-shek, the Chinese have been promising to come back and “reunify” the island with the Chinese mainland. They know the only way to do it is with force. Nancy Pelosi never imagined they might actually see her visit as the excuse to do it now.
All of Asia was thrown into a panic when Nancy’s plane touched down in Taipei last Tuesday. Nobody realized how bad it would become, even though China warned us against “playing with fire.”
The “full ramifications of her visit are only now emerging, with China halting cooperation on various issues, worsening already strained US-China ties, and ramping up exercises in the skies and waters around Taiwan.”
Diplomatically, the option just short of declaring war is break of diplomatic negotiations. China just broke them off. By Friday, spotters counted 68 68 Chinese warplanes in the Taiwan Strait. Out of those, “49 entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone — a buffer of airspace commonly referred to as an ADIZ.”
Planes are one thing but last Thursday, “China launched 11 ballistic missiles — some of which flew over the island of Taiwan and landed in Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone, prompting Tokyo to lodge a formal complaint with Beijing. That was the first time China had sent missiles over the island.” The next volley might not pass over.
