Biden Pentagon Caught!

The Pentagon's Role
The Pentagon’s Role

There is no other department of our government that gets more money on an annual basis than the Pentagon.

Yet, the Department of Defense has now failed seven consecutive audits.

When you hand one department nearly $1 trillion every year and it cannot properly account for its spending, yes, there is a problem, and heads need to roll.

We Don’t Know

There are a total of 28 reporting entities within the DOD.

Of those, only nine received an unmodified audit opinion, three are pending, 15 received disclaimers, and one received a qualified opinion.

According to reports, Pentagon officials consider this progress.

Oh, and they have set a goal to figure this all out and 100 percent compliance by 2028.

Michael McCord, Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Chief Financial Officer, says the DOD has “turned a corner” and things are looking up.

He continued, “Momentum is on our side, and throughout the Department there is strong commitment—and belief in our ability—to achieve an unmodified audit opinion.”

Most older people will remember when it was reported that the Pentagon was being billed prices more than 100 times their actual worth for certain items, such as hammers, which were costing the American taxpayer more than $1,000, and this was decades ago, but they still cannot figure it out.

This corruption in the DOD is nothing new, and it may actually be getting worse.

Regardless of the size of the operation, controlling spending is about as basic as it gets.

You receive money, you track where that money is spent, where the products are transferred to, and how they are used.

How is this not computerized? How do we not have teams that are able to track every bullet purchased, used for aid, or dispersed to our troops?

We need only look at the sloppy accountability regarding aid given to Ukraine to understand how inept Pentagon officials are on this front.

Along with removing DEI policies, getting this under control has to be a top priority for the incoming Secretary of Defense. This wasteful spending must be stopped.
