Greek soldiers in protective hazmat suits are searching Kavala in northern Greece “for signs of nuclear and chemical substances.” The fireball was truly spectacular when a Ukrainian plane carrying 11.5 tons of “mortar shells and land mines” from Serbia to Bangladesh went down. All eight Ukrainian crew members were assumed vaporized.

Nuclear or chemical traces

The search is on for nuclear and chemical substances, even though mortar shells and land mines aren’t usually filled with those. When asked about the condition of the crew, an official at Kyiv cargo operator Meridian notes, “of course they didn’t survive this.

All anyone really knows for sure is that the Antonov An-12 light aircraft was transporting weapons.

Eyewitnesses to the crash filmed early morning explosions “continuing for two hours.” The wreckage burned until morning. Drones have beamed back images of debris scattered across Greek fields. Serbia’s defense minister took responsibility for the shipment of “products made by its defense industry.

Their quiet little arms deal was with the Bangladesh defense ministry. Greek authorities are totally in the dark and “could not provide any more information on the aircraft’s cargo.” They have no idea why everyone is taking such high nuclear and chemical precautions.

There is no way to deny that all the Greek soldiers surveying the crash site are heavily garbed in “biochemical protection gear.” The troops were in the area long into the late afternoon.

They cordoned off an area with a 400 meter radius. That’s a quarter mile in all directions. More soldiers and biochemical weapons experts showed up at lunchtime also dressed for nuclear death.

Serbia backs the supplier

Serbian defense minister Nebojsa Stefanovic confirmed to the press that “the plane’s cargo was owned by Serbian company Valir” and that the company is registered to sell weapons to foreign nations. He also verified that “a special army unit arrived at the site to search for nuclear, biological and chemical substances.

What he isn’t saying is what they might be or why they think they may be there. “Residents nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors shut and avoid the area of the incident.

Meanwhile, local police are making certain that nobody gets into a situation that could be more nuclear than they know. Someone could have added a few canisters of something really nasty in their chemical weapons line as a “sample” or whatever.

The police tell local residents that after the crash “white dust” got kicked up into the air and it’s still coming down. One of the lead firefighters reported “his crew ‘felt their lips burning‘ at the site, with white dust floating in the air.” Journalists are being advised to wear masks.

We don’t know what has been affecting us,” fire brigade coordinator Marios Apostolidis declares. He’s not happy to see all the soldiers wearing nuclear and chemical safety gear. Especially when his crews don’t have that. Nobody knows much about the crash except “the pilot requested an emergency landing from Greek aviation authorities due to an engine problem,” just before it went down.

The craft had previously stopped for fuel at Jordan’s Queen Alia international airport at 9:30 pm. One of the eyewitnesses describes how he was “surprised by the sound of the engine of the aircraft. I went outside and saw the engine on fire.” It was pretty clear from what happened next that “the plane was carrying explosives.
