ICYMI – It finally happened…
After serving in the Senate for three decades, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is calling it quits.
Feinstein’s office released a statement earlier this week that the California Democrat was finally going to step down.
It’s Time
A statement was released announcing that Feinstein would not be seeking re-election.
It stated, “I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024 but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends.
“I campaigned in 2018 on several priorities for California and the nation: preventing and combating wildfires, mitigating the effects of record-setting drought, responding to the homelessness crisis, and ensuring all Americans have access to affordable, high-quality health care.
“Congress has enacted legislation on all of these topics over the past several years, but more needs to be done – and I will continue these efforts.”
I don’t really personally have anything against Feinstein.
While I obviously do not support her politics, she was willing to reach across the aisle more than most to get legislation passed.
Today, however, she is a shell of her former self and has become extremely forgetful.
This is, by and far, the right decision.
