Donald Trump is going to have a special guest at his first official campaign rally for the 2023 year.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will be attending the rally to support Trump.
Along with Graham, Republican Governor Henry McMaster will be there.
The Swamp
This announcement surprises me on many different levels, which I will get into shortly.
First, Graham has not yet endorsed Trump, but it is hard to imagine he will not if he is attending this rally.
Graham has, however, stated that he believes that Trump will be very hard to beat if he runs again.
Considering the bashing of Graham that Trump has done since leaving office, you cannot help yourself but to lose all respect from Graham licking Trump’s boots again.
From Trump’s base’s perspective, how can they possibly be excited about this?
Graham was among the Senators that voted for the recent $1.7 trillion omnibus bill.
This is a bill that Trump himself said any Senator who supported needs to be primaried and run out of office.
This legislation also took all leverage away from the House in terms of budgetary spending.
I can also say rather comfortably that Graham is about as deeply embedded in the Swamp as one can be, yet Trump continues to be buddy, buddy with him.
Is it all talk because it sure seems that way to me.
Graham has been atop my list of longtime GOP Senators that must go, right alongside McConnell.
This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.
