Trump Pardon Shocker

Last week, Donald Trump shook the political world by announcing a possible pardon if he is re-elected.

Everyone knows that Trump has a soft spot for the J6 rioters, which, if he pardons them, will be a political disaster.

However, now he is talking about Hunter Biden, and I am pretty sure this is not going to sit well with most of the people on the right.

Possible Pardon

This topic has come up before as a way for Trump to extend an olive branch to Democrats.

Trump was asked if he would consider pardoning Hunter if he wins, and Trump stated that he would “not take it off the table.”

Trump then added, “See, unlike Joe Biden, despite what they’ve done to me, where they’ve gone after me so viciously, despite what, and Hunter’s a bad boy.

“There’s no question about it. He’s been a bad boy. All you had to do is see the laptop from hell. But I happen to think it’s very bad for our country.”

There are quite a few problems here, however.

Trump is the one that has been hammering the idea of Hunter going to jail. To that point, Republicans have spent most of the last four years pressing for Hunter Biden investigations, and spent virtually all of their time in charge of the House over the last two years on this issue.

Now Trump is talking about pardoning Hunter, which means all that time and money that was spent investigating Hunter was for nothing.

Think of how the Democrats could use this to destroy House Republicans in battleground states that have seats that are at risk.

And does Trump really think pardoning Hunter would promote unity or get Democrats to stop coming after him?

Correct me if I am wrong, but after campaigning on locking Hillary up in 2016, Trump extended her an olive branch at his inaugural luncheon, and Dems came at him even harder.

And what message does this send to the average American who is convicted of similar charges? Just because they are not connected, they have to serve their time when someone like Hunter, who has thumbed his nose at the law his entire life, finally gets caught and gets to go free.

Sorry, Donald, but I cannot get behind this one for you.
