Justine Jones is now out of a job.
Jones was hired by the Kenley City Council (North Carolina) to run the town.
She was awarded the position over 30 other candidates.
She lasted all of three months in the position, formally being terminated on Tuesday.
You Need to Go
Jones was only on the job for about two months before havoc started in City Hall.
The town, which only has about 2,400 residents, has a police force of five officers.
In July, they all resigned.
In addition, several town clerks turned in their resignations.
Those that resigned cited a toxic work environment.
The City Council ordered an investigation and even though it did not find a toxic workplace, it still fired Jones.
Kenly Mayor Tooie Hales explained, stating, “Our decision to terminate the contract is not solely based on the investigation, but there are a lot of other factors, and we have to look for the best way to move forward for the town.”
My guess is that Jones will end up filing a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
I doubt the drama in this case is over just yet.
