There is nothing like being handed a lead you never deserved, and that is what Harris got when the Democrats, possibly illegally, made her the Democrat nominee for president.
Harris started her campaign less than four months before election day, with a lead of nearly four points nationally and a nice cushion in just about every battleground state.
Less than a month from people pulling the handle and Harris’ lead is now gone.
Desperate Times
Harris still has a national lead, but she has been down by nearly two points since entering the race.
That is not the real problem for her, though.
Harris’ lead in the battleground states is now just about gone.
Worse yet for Harris, in the most recent polls, Trump has taken a small lead in the majority of polls.
The key for Trump will be North Carolina, a state that has only voted blue once since 1980, but the race always seems to be tight.
If Trump wins North Carolina and Georgia, where he now also has a small lead, his path is pretty definitive and very achievable.
Trump would need to split Michigan and PA, and Trump is leading the latest poll in Michigan.
Trump would also need to split Arizona and Nevada, and Trump continues to grow his lead in Arizona while in a virtual tie with Harris in Nevada.
This would explain why Democrats are panicking and the big boys have been called in to help Harris.
This would also explain why Barack Obama is screaming at black men to vote for Harris because she is black.
When you resort to identity politics, you are in bad shape, and that is the state of the Harris campaign right now.
But let’s not get overconfident because we still have three weeks before people head to the polls to elect the next president of the United States.
