Penn State professor Themis Matsoukas got caught with his pants down in a state park. He really screwed the pooch this time. Literally. His way of “blowing off steam” after a hard day flunking freshmen has him behind bars. Described as a “longtime and award-winning” member of the Penn State faculty, the 64-year-old “allegedly performed sexual acts with his dog in sickening displays that were captured on a state forest trail camera.” It’s okay, he insists. I’m a progressive.
Perverted sex in the park
On Tuesday, Penn State professor Themis Matsoukas was charged “after he was allegedly caught earlier this year in a state park naked from the waist down, except for socks and shoes.” He was caught on camera, not in person. Making things much worse, he was “committing the perverted sex acts with his collie.”
The disgusting act went down “near bathrooms at Rothrock State Forest in Pennsylvania.” The professor is currently “on leave from the university.”
Matsoukas was eventually “identified through a North Face backpack he was carrying from an incident in April.” Even worse, it turns out that there was a similar incident in May.

Prosecutors won’t have any trouble convicting him because he recorded all the evidence they need. Not only did he have sex with his dog in a public park, he “allegedly tried to record himself performing the lewd acts with an electronic tablet.” That’s what a trail cam showed.
Professor Matsoukas reportedly “went into a panic” when “rangers from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources searched his home earlier this month.” They identified him as a suspect and got a warrant after showing the judge what the park trail camera caught.
While investigators didn’t tell him exactly why they were searching his home, Matsoukas probably knew. He kept mumbling “I’m done, I’m dead,” reports note. He also begged rangers to “shoot him,” saying “I need to die.” He also told the officers, “I do it to blow off steam.”
Three teaching awards
It shouldn’t be a big surprise that the perverted professor has won at least three teaching awards since he started in 1991. He’s been molding young minds in Chemical Engineering for decades. Sam Brinton would have fit right in to one of his classes.
The rangers bagged and tagged the backpack and ski mask he wore on his visit to the park. “They also saw a collie in his home that matched the dog in the video.” Matsoukas is just a little too progressive for the university so he’s “been relieved of his responsibilities and is on leave.”
His attorney, Matthew McClenahen, was smart enough not to comment to reporters on Wednesday, June 14, saying only that “it would be inappropriate to make any comment at this time.”

Prosecutors charged him with “open lewdness, indecent exposure and sexual intercourse with an animal.” Believe it or not, all of those are only misdemeanors. He also faces “summary charges of cruelty to animals and disorderly conduct” for his behavior in the State park.
Authorities note that the day he got caught on the trail cam wasn’t the first time. “He allegedly has been partaking in the lewd acts at the forest since 2014.”
The state forest trail camera was set up by park administrators “in an attempt to catch suspected thefts from the bathroom. Instead of catching people stealing bags of hand sanitizer, it caught a man recording himself performing lewd acts with a dog.“
