Former Vice President Mike Pence recently joined the presidential race.
As such, he has no reason at all to stick up for Donald Trump.
Yet, that is exactly what he did in one of the most controversial legal issues surrounding Donald Trump right now.
No Pressure
Pence just took up for Trump on the phone calls that were made to Republican governors after the 2020 race was decided.
According to Pence, there was never any pressure applied to governors to change votes.
Pence, defending Trump, stated, “I did check in with, not only Gov. Ducey, but other governors and states that were going through the legal process of reviewing their election results, but there was no pressure involved.”
Trump has always maintained the calls were perfect.
In the audio of the calls, Trump can be heard telling them to “find” votes and “recalculate” the election totals.
This has been interpreted as pressure by some and a call for an investigation by others.
This is big news for Trump and his supporters, regardless, because Pence could have easily turned on Trump here, but he continues to choose to protect the man that has more or less ended his political career.
