Hunter Biden may just find his case a bit harder to win.

His lead counsel, Chris Clark, has asked to be removed from the case.

What may be an even bigger story is why Clark wants to be removed.

Conflict of Interest

So Republicans are now conducting an investigation into the plea deal that was allegedly offered to Hunter.

Now, there has been a ton of misreporting on this.

Regardless, Clark could be called as a witness, and state ethics laws prevent him from being a witness as well as legal counsel.

In his request, he stated, “Pursuant to Delaware Rule of Professional Conduct 3.7(a), ‘a lawyer shall not act as advocate at a trial in which the lawyer is likely to be a necessary witness unless… disqualification of the lawyer would work substantial hardship on the client.’”

Hunter’s legal team is now suing to have the plea deal put back in place, but prosecutors have already stated that the moment Hunter pleaded not guilty, any deal would have been voided.

Furthermore, they stated there was never a deal in place anyway.

David Weiss, the prosecuting attorney and now special counsel, also stated that it was Hunter’s team that wanted future immunity, something the prosecutors never agreed to and the judge refused to have added to the deal.

His team is also looking for a change of venue to get away from the Trump-appointed judge that is currently presiding over the case.
