It appears that Vice President Kamala Harris is doing her best to push a false narrative about the new state-wide curriculum standards in Florida.
During a speech at the Ritz Theatre and Museum in Jacksonville, she claimed that “they want to replace history with lies” and that middle school students will be told that slavery had benefits.
This could not be further from the truth as those who have read through the new standards know this is an absolute lie.
It’s time for us to take a deeper look into this matter and expose the Democrats’ agenda of indoctrinating our children with their own political agenda.
The recently approved social studies curriculum states, “Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”
However, this does not mean what Harris has alleged; it simply means that slaves were able to use these skills to better their own situation despite being enslaved.
Exodus Institute founder Kali Fontanilla clarified this point when speaking on Fox News with Carley Shimkus: “She’s taking this one line and misrepresenting it in order to gaslight her voters… they’re just simply saying historical facts…. They’re trying to do a revisionist history, not the right.”
It is clear that Harris was attempting to twist words so she can manipulate people into believing something entirely different than what was intended by the standards.
Florida Gov Ron DeSantis responded on Twitter, calling out Harris for her attempt at manipulating her supporters: “Democrats like Kamala Harris have to lie about Florida’s educational standards…Florida stands in their way and we will continue to expose their agenda and their lies.”
Rebecca Nathanson – Chapter Chair of Moms for Liberty – also expressed feelings of disbelief over Harris’ mischaracterization of HB 7 (legislation which intends to increase African American history knowledge) during a Sunday panel: “I think Vice President Harris is showing Americans once again that she’s uninformed… peddling in cynical lies.”
We must stand together against attempts at manipulation such as these from those who wish only push forward their own agendas while disregarding actual facts or truthfulness.
