Joe Biden has been attacking the GOP on social security and Medicare.
Biden continues to say that the GOP is trying to end both programs, which is an outright lie.
The irony in all of this is that Joe Biden, for decades, did try to end these programs.
Good for the Goose
For more than 20 years in the Senate, Joe Biden did his best to kill these programs.
In fact, he also wanted to include veterans’ benefits in there.
In 1995, Joe Biden gave a passionate speech on the Senate floor calling out his fellow Senators for not helping him push this legislation through.
When Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s former positions, she acted as though they never happened.
She stated, “The president ran on protecting Medicare and Social Security from cuts, and he reiterated that in the State of the Union.
“He’s been very clear these past couple of years.
“Rick Scott has the opposite point.
“That’s just what we’re seeing from Scott. He’s actually doubling down, tripling down, quadrupling down on that – on his view.
“And his plan that would sunset both programs.
“So Scott did that again just this week.
“I think he did that this morning.”
Scott is not trying to end the programs, but revamp them.
Over and above that, she still never answered the question as to why Biden was fighting to end these programs for decades.
