We could have a very viable preventive treatment for COVID in the near future.
Reports are breaking that a vaccine nasal spray is testing very well.
If testing continues down the path it has gone, the nasal spray can be used to stop the transmission at far higher rates than anything else we have seen.
Game Changer
In animal testing so far, the virus has been hampered by the nasal spray more than the two-dose vaccines.
A lead researcher stated, “We find that a live attenuated vaccine prevents virus replication — this could be a game changer in controlling SARS-CoV-2 transmission.”
The University of Helsinki has also conducted a study on the nasal spray.
That report stated, “In laboratory animal studies, a molecule known as TriSb92, developed by researchers at the University of Helsinki, has been confirmed as affording effective protection against coronavirus infection.
“The molecule identifies a region in the spike protein of the coronavirus common to all current variants of the virus and inhibits its functioning.”
I think this would probably be received far better than the vaccine has been, especially when you consider the reports that are not coming out about the vaccines.
Hopefully, this spray continues to test well with minimal side effects so those dreaded vaccines can be replaced as the primary preventative treatment for COVID.
