Man Brutally Assaulted and Maimed With American Flag Through Head

The way Clinton Collins displayed his flag is seriously a breach of patriotic etiquette. He drove it, and the pole it was attached to, through the skull of an unidentified man at a Sonic restaurant in Oklahoma. The unfortunate victim lost an eye.

Pole with flag attached

The American flag and the pole it was attached to “entered the victim’s head beneath his jaw and exited the other side of his cranium near his right temple.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. at a Sonic in the Tulsa Hills neighborhood. “That’s what he gets. He deserved it,” Collins allegedly declared on August 2.

Multiple witnesses observed the whole thing in action. Clinton Collins is reportedly a convict to start with so knew the drill when police took him into custody. He’s been charged with criminal “maiming.

Officer Danny Bean relates it happened “like you’d see in a TV show or a horror movie, ran at him and stabbed him through the head.” He’d never seen a flag go “through the bottom and out through the other side” of someone’s head before.

Tulsa firefighters got the tricky task of cutting “part of the flagpole so the victim could fit inside the ambulance.” They aren’t saying what happened to the flag.

Maiming is considered a felony crime in Oklahoma that carries a punishment of up to life in prison. The attack must have been provoked by something but police refuse to “disclose what led to the strange attack inside the fast food chain.

May go to tribal court

It turns out that the flag waving maniac happens to be a “member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.” That makes it murky whether “his case will be handled in tribal court or U.S. District Court.

The confusion started back in 2020, when the Supreme Court “ruled that Oklahoma prosecutors lack the authority to pursue criminal cases against defendants who are tribal citizens in a large chunk of eastern Oklahoma because it remains an American Indian reservation.” This incident happened there.

One thing Officer Bean knows for sure is “that he did this on purpose.” That wasn’t a nice thing to do with a flag.

Local reporters “also identified a woman who told the station that she recognized Collins after seeing him exhibit similarly disturbing behavior about a week prior.

He had the same flag with him that day. She “saw him start to charge at this person who was just sitting on the ground in front of the McDonald’s.

He charged at him with the flagpole and started doing like a stabbing motion with it.
