The National Police Association has come out with some pretty strong statements about the Democrats’ obsession with January 6th and their so-called investigation of the riot.
Congress’ investigation of January 6th is merely a “dog and pony show,” according to a police associate.
What the government should be focused on are the BLM riots that killed dozens of people, destroyed thousands of businesses, and injured police officers, rather than the Capitol riot which pales in comparison.
Retired Police Sergeant Betsy Brantner Smith, the spokeswoman for the National Police Association, has said that Congress needs to hear from the thousands of police officers who were injured during the George Floyd riots last year.
“People need to see that police officers go through horrible things, and Jan. 6 was a horrible thing for some of those officers,” she said.
“But, quite frankly, I find this whole Jan. 6 Commission, frankly, a dog and pony show. It doesn’t tell the whole story,” Smith added.
“Myself, like millions of Americans, sat there watching the testimony thinking, ‘Wait, where are the police officers who appeared – appeared – to let some of the protesters in? Where is the police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt? In fact, why aren’t we talking about Ashli Babbitt?’ I mean there’s so much more here,” the National Police Association spokeswoman said.
Of course, Smith isn’t alone in asking these questions, and wondering why there is no investigation into the George Floyd riots. Most Republicans in Congress agree, and have openly opposed the commission into the January 6th riot because they know it will be a partisan “dog and pony show.”
A survey from the National Police Association and Rasmussen Reports shows that the American people also agree.
The survey found that “66 percent of American voters think Congress should investigate the 2020 BLM-Antifa riots. The liberal establishment has struggled to even acknowledge the riots happened,” according to Andy Ngo, Editor-in-Chief of the Post Millennial.
