I have seen some pretty ridiculous things in this new woke environment, but this story really takes the cake.

A local news crew in Arkansas decided to have a little fun when the weather changed.

With temperatures in the 70s, they thought it would be fun to have a 70s theme.

Well, it got a news director fired and the anchors suspended.

Seriously?

As part of the 70s theme, anchor Chris May and meteorologist Barry Brandt decided to wear afro wigs during the broadcast.

Keep in mind, during the 1970s, this was a popular hairstyle for black, white, and Hispanic people.

Look at some of the TV personalities at the time… for instance, workout guru Richard Simmons and PBS painter Bob Ross both wore afros, as did popular comic Gene Shalit, just to name a few.

Well, this was suddenly deemed offensive, an insult to black viewers.

The station terminated the news director and suspended both anchors.

It also stated, “KATV-7 apologies [sic] for the poor judgement of some members of our news team.

“Understanding the severity of the situation, we have taken swift action to address it.

“We apologize to all viewers who were rightfully offended by the segment and we promise to enact and enforce new measures to prevent future incidents from occurring.

“We remain committed to serving the dynamic and diverse community of Little Rock.”

That is the state of the country today… it is utterly ridiculous.
