One of the biggest concerns health care professionals have right now is hospitals running out of beds to facilitate those that are sick.
In response to these concerns, President Trump has authorized the deployment of the USNS Comfort and the USNS Mercy, both Naval hospital ships.
Preparing for the Worst
In an effort to make sure that any American that needs a bed gets it, we are seeing mobilization as we have never seen before.
Even though we have seen other viruses hit this country before, the fear-mongering created by the media and Democrats has created a panic level we have never seen.
Precautionary measures are being touted as the end of the world solutions, creating even more panic.
I would encourage everyone to go back and listen to the press conferences with H1N1 when Obama was in office to the aggressive tone of reporters today.
Trump and the task force are challenged on everything and asked inflammatory question after inflammatory question.
During the Ebola and MERS breakouts, see if you can find a single reporter asking Obama if those terms were racist… you won’t find it.
See if a reporter asked Obama if using the word “calm” meant that he was dismissing the seriousness of the virus… you won’t find it.
As a way to quell some of the fear being created, two massive medical ships are now being called into action.
One will be anchored on the east coast and one on the west coast. They will be deployed to areas as needed to lessen the pressure on hospitals in any state that is near full capacity.
First, though, the challenge must be met to staff these ships.
Secretary Esper stated, “The big challenge isn’t the availability of these inventories, it’s the medical professionals.
“All of those doctors and nurses either come from our medical treatment facilities or they come from the reserves, which means civilians.”
“What I don’t want to do is take reservists from a hospital where they are needed, just to put them on a ship, to take them somewhere else where they are needed.
“We’ve got to be very conscious of that.”
The fear-mongering has gotten so bad the task force is now literally telling the media to dial it down during the daily press conference.
I am not saying we won’t fall into crisis at some point, but we are surely not there yet.
Contrary to the mainstream media reports, this administration has acted swiftly and severely on every front.
With all the new testing that is available, we are going to see numbers climb and we will soon see significant fatalities from those that were first infected, but this is no reason to panic.
Again, remember, during the 2009-10 H1N1 season, there were more than 12,000 deaths with none of the measures currently in place being taken.
So CALM down and follow the recommended health, cleaning, and gathering protocols from the government.
