Recently, authorities arrested a radical leftist activist after its alleged he stole a vehicle before crashing it into other vehicles and running from the scene. 33-year-old Matthew V. Johnson was charged with theft, reckless driving and hit-and-run according to records.
Johnson is a prominent activist associated with the anti-police extremist group “Stop Cop City”.
As reported by WSB-TV, employees of Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers said that on Sept 29th Johnson had come to their shop to pick up his own SUV but instead reached over the counter and stole the keys to another customer’s Mercedes Benz.
After taking off in this stolen vehicle he proceeded down Moreland Avenue ramming into multiple vehicles; one particular white truck ended up barrel rolling several times before landing onto the opposing lane of traffic. The driver was significantly injured in this incident although the severity of injuries is not known yet.
Footage from traffic cameras shows Johnson ditching his vehicle and fleeing the scene soon after which police were able to catch him with relative ease.

Johnson is part of Beloved Community Ministries which is a local social justice non-profit organization. He has been at odds with Atlanta Police Foundation ever since they declared plans for building a Public Safety Training Center within 381 forested acres in DeKalb County – an action vehemently opposed by Antifa and other left wing extremists who call themselves “Stop Cop City” or “Atlanta Forest Defenders”.
This opposition got extreme when 61 people belonging to these extremist groups were charged under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Additionally individual defendants are facing charges related to their roles such as terrorism as well.

The extremists went so far as creating an autonomous zone inside these woods while carrying out violent attacks on officers trying to stop them from building this facility – one such attack resulted in death when an Antifa militant opened fire on cops who responded back with shots killing him instantly.
Despite all these grave incidents and human losses against them, Johnson defended this deceased activist. In June he also disrupted Mayor Andre Dickens press brief discussing police training facility leading it to being cut short due to disruption created by him and others alike.
