It is with great sadness that we report US singing sensation, Tori Kelly, is currently receiving treatment in hospital after being diagnosed with blood clots around vital organs.
The Grammy-winning artist was out for dinner in downtown LA on Sunday night when she suddenly felt her heart beating really fast and passed out.
She was taken to a top hospital where doctors discovered clots in her legs and lungs, and are still looking into whether any are around her heart as well.
While the situation is said to be ‘very serious’, fans of the star have been flooding social media with messages of concern and support.
Born in California, Tori Kelly shot to fame as a teen when she started posting videos on YouTube.
In 2010 she made it through to Hollywood Week during the 9th season of American Idol and since then has gone from strength to strength.
Her debut album Unbreakable Smile peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and its lead single Nobody Love marked her first appearance on the Hot 100 chart.
This was followed by further success when she was nominated for Best New Artist at the 58th Grammy Awards, an accolade which she won again two years later for Hiding Place – the second studio album released under her name – winning Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song respectively.
Throughout her career so far, Tori has collaborated with some of music’s biggest names including James Bay, Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder and Justin Timberlake – all testament to her utter powerhouse vocals.
Most recently ,the singer announced that would be releasing a self-titled EP on July 28th this year following Inspired by True Events (2020) and A Tori Kelly Christmas (2019).
We can only hope that this will still come about despite current health complications; fans across the globe sending prayers of love and healing for their pop idol.
