One of the most amazing drummers in rock and roll is licking his wounds today.
Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was attacked recently outside of his hotel.
Allen had stepped outside to grab a smoke when a 19-year-old punk snuck up on him and pushed him down to the ground, resulting in a head injury.
Ouch!
Allen was doing nothing but having a drag of a smoke when this kid came out of nowhere to attack him.
When a woman came to his aid, the kid went after her.
Reports stated that she tried to run into the hotel, but the kid ran after her and dragged her back outside by her hair.
Thankfully, the wanna-be thug was later arrested and charged.
Allen is the infamous one-armed drummer of Def Leppard.
He lost his arm in an accident where he thought he would lose his life.
The band never gave up on him and he relearned how to play drums.
Because of the loss of his arm, he set up a new kit using his left foot to emulate the strikes he would make with his left stick and amazingly, it worked.
You won’t see the dramatic solos that you see from other drummers, but Allen can still hold his own behind the kit.
