Ron DeSantis has managed to keep leaks from his office to a minimum, but a presidential election is a whole new ballgame.
With so many extra moving parts, leaks are bound to happen.
Well, one just did, and it is an absolute disaster for DeSantis.
The Memo
The memo was not even from a DeSantis staffer.
It was leaked from someone from the Never Back Down SuperPAC that is backing DeSantis.
The document offered advice to DeSantis for his upcoming debate.
It stated, “There are four basic must-dos.
“1. Attack Joe Biden and the media 3-5 times. 2. State GRD’s positive vision 2-3 times. 3. Hammer Vivek Ramaswamy in a response. 4. Defend Donald Trump in absentia in response to a Chris Christie attack.”
DeSantis’ team immediately responded, “This was not a campaign memo and we were not aware of it prior to the article. We are well accustomed to the attacks from all sides as the media and other candidates realize Ron DeSantis is the strongest candidate best positioned to take down Joe Biden.”
I actually think most of that is good advice except for defending Donald Trump.
That is not a shot at Trump, but why would DeSantis, who has been hammered by Trump, now defend him against attacks?
Trust me, Trump will surely be on Truth Social to defend himself as the attacks take place.
I love the idea of DeSantis going after Ramaswamy to try to kill the momentum he has been building since the Turning Point conference.
If DeSantis cannot get Ramaswamy to drop out before Super Tuesday, this nomination is just a formality for Trump.
