Unconfirmed reports are coming in from the Mexico side of the chaos on Wednesday, saying that Texas Governor Greg Abbott backed down. Express News is reporting that Abbott has “agreed to ease inspections” at the core of the controversy. He’s not going away empty handed, though. He managed to squeeze out some concessions.
Texas accepts ‘security commitments’
The Laredo, Texas side of the line which we sketchily call a border cracked down hard on smuggling. They closed the pipeline of drugs and humans in advance of the upcoming scheduled invasion, by doing manual searches of nearly every vehicle coming through the station. Democrats are convinced that the supply chain crisis is a direct result of an immigrant “shortage,” so they’re throwing the gates wide open.
Joe Biden plans to welcome in an expected 18,000 new unofficial citizens every day. You’ll be glad to know that each and every one of them is handed a shiny new smart phone to track them with. Conservatives speculate they will all be registered Democrat voters before November.
Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepulveda of Nuevo Leon was visibly relieved to tell the press, on April 13, that he “spoke directly earlier this week to Abbott on behalf of business leaders and customs agents about the inspections.”
The bare minimum trickle of commerce into Texas will soon ease, he promises, “Abbott has agreed to ease the inspections in return for security commitments.”
Abbott’s office, on the other hand, “has not confirmed the conversation with García, but they have planned a 2 p.m. meeting with the Nuevo Leon governor today in Laredo.” Texas Department of Public Safety officials routinely “stop incoming trucks when they see safety violations.”
Abbott took things a step further by ordering DPS to stop “every truck for inspections.” Each search takes up to an hour. Liberals are furious because the policy even applies to trucks which already “have passed through U.S. Customs checkpoints.”

Traffic dropped 60 percent
Shipping companies are going spastic because trucks are backed up for hours at the key border crossing bridges. It normally takes around 30 minutes for trucks to clear the border. Because of the intense inspections “traffic at the border has dropped by as much as 60 percent.” Laredo is normally the busiest trucking port in America. On Tuesday, the average transit time was “3 hours for trucks to cross the border.” The Texas Trucking Association is rethinking their endorsement of Abbott and vented their frustration on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, this new initiative duplicates existing screening efforts and leads to significant congestion, delaying the products Americans rely on from our largest trading partner, Mexico.” The meth addicts are really getting nervous. “The current situation on the border simply cannot be sustained and we urge President Joe Biden and Governor Greg Abbott to come together before our economy endures further irreparable damage.”
His Wisdom Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. isn’t showing any sign of backing down. His handlers are working frantically to prepare for the May 23 “mass migration event.” Nobody is talking about what Mexico offered which caused Abbott to change his mind. He’s certainly not afraid of Beto O’Rourke.
The Democrat blasted the Texas governor for damaging the economy. He could care less about destroying our country. The Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller, isn’t happy about the “political theater” keeping migrants out of the fields. If the lettuce doesn’t get picked it will never get to the grocery store.
Truckers are the ones hit especially hard by the feud. All the non-smugglers are trying to do is make a living. They get paid by the load. They used to be able to zip across into Texas four times a day.
Right now they’re lucky if they can get through even once. “That lost pay has resulted in protests in Mexico where truckers have blockaded two entry points to stop incoming U.S. trade and put pressure on Abbott to resolve delays.“
