Arizona Supreme Court Rules Issues Ruling Against Republicans

It is with great disappointment that the Republican National Committee has been sanctioned by the recent ruling of the Arizona Supreme Court.

A case related to the 2022 election, brought forward by Democratic lawyer Marc Elias, resulted in a decision against our party.

Abe Hamadeh, an attorney general candidate who had lost to Democrat Kris Mayes by only 280 votes, asked the state Supreme Court to overturn his loss and order a new election after previous attempts had failed.

Unfortunately, Judge Lee Jantzen rejected his claim in July and when Hamadeh elected to bypass an appeals court and take his case straight to the state’s highest court, it was also rejected.

According to reports from Arizona Mirror, Hamadeh alleged that there were more than 500 “uncounted votes in Pinal County” as well as changes made to Service Arizona and the Arizona Voter Information Database which could have resulted in as many 1,000 rejected provisional ballots.

The Supreme Court noted that “because Petitioners were not only aware that they needed a final judgment to seek appellate relief but also misrepresented this court that they had sought such relief when they had not done so…” he was ultimately responsible for paying respondents’ attorney fees.

This decision is undoubtedly going to have financial implications for both Mr. Hamadeh personally as well as financially hurting those affiliated with him.

The prevailing opinion is that these funds could have been put towards more beneficial causes like improving existing infrastructure or helping people affected by natural disasters etc., instead of paying off legal fees.
