The fight to keep this election honest has been going on for months.

In the waning days of the election, it all paid off.

To that point, a case regarding allowing Cobb County votes in Georgia to be accepted late was defeated on the eve of the election.

Big Win for GOP

In the state of Georgia, the nonsense was cut down considerably with two huge last-second wins by the Georgia GOP and RNC.

The first case had blocked late ballots being accepted in two counties, one being a massive Democrat stronghold, Fulton County.

The second case was a bit trickier because residents in Cobb County claimed they had received their absentee ballots late, and wanted an extension to return them after election day.

The RNC and Georgia GOP argued, “The Superior Court’s deviation from the Legislature’s instruction is baseless.

“The Plaintiffs claim a burden on their right to vote, but the Georgia Constitution does not guarantee a right to vote by mail.

“Voters still have many options to vote, including by voting in person or delivering their absentee ballots in person.”

I have been adamant about this for quite some time. With early voting, absentee ballots should only be issued to the elderly who cannot make it out of their homes and those who will not be in town during the election period.

With a full two weeks to vote early, there are plenty of options, just as they argued.

The Georgia Supreme Court agreed, ruling in favor of the GOP.

Following the rules is not voter oppression, as Democrats will claim. It’s about time we started actually following the rules and not setting them aside to benefit Democrats.
